The Namesake

The Caspian Mermaid is a name rooted in heritage, identity, and legacy. Roya is a first-generation Persian-American, with family origins along the northern coast of Iran, bordering the Caspian Sea. These historic waters—rich with culture, depth, and beauty—serve as both inspiration and homage. Chosen as an ode to her ancestry and family lineage, The Caspian Mermaid represents a bridge between worlds: past and present, tradition and transformation, land and sea.

Roya, known professionally as The Caspian Mermaid, has always held a deep and instinctive connection to the ocean and its many wonders. Drawn to the water from an early age, mermaiding became a natural extension of her love for the sea—where artistry, movement, and reverence for the ocean unite.

Before returning to the sunlit shores of Florida, Roya devoted herself to studying the craft of professional mermaiding, approaching with both curiosity and intention.

Upon relocating in 2023, she immersed herself fully in the world of professional mermaids, earning her PADI Mermaid Certifications and refining her skills with top industry performers as her instructors and mentors. She continues her education frequently to stay at a peak state within her craft.
